Tropical storm forms off Southeast


This NOAA satellite image taken Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows a cluster of clouds just off the Southeast Coast associated with newly formed Tropical Depression Three.  The storm will move northeastward along the east coast while strengthening into a tropical storm.  A line of clouds extending from the Southwest to the Ohio Valley is associated with a line of showers and a few thunderstorms in the region. Tropical Storm Cristobal formed off the Southeast coast Saturday — the first to threaten the U.S. this hurricane season.
